Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu | Wedding | Brett & Tatum
Sometimes in life, you meet people so fearless that it catches you off guard. In the moment, you think, If more people would be like them, the world would be much more interesting. That’s how I felt the day I shot this beautiful couple’s wedding. What bride makes her own bouquet and bakes her own wedding cake on her wedding day? To top it off, Tatum and Brett jumped into the ocean together after their beach session!
Brett is from a small town in South Africa and loves all things boats. Tatum’s was living in the Caribbean when she decided to go on vacation to South Africa. One night, the two had met and sparks flew. Somehow, the both parted ways, only to run into each other in the future. The next time around, sparks not only flew but they became official and Brett had moved across the world to the Caribbean’s. The couple later moved to the Pacific’s, to the Island of Vanuatu.
Vanuatu had become home for these two. The both had become property managers on a private island. One day, after a small earthquake, a large glass window in their bedroom started to crack. Over the next few days, the cracked spread further and further and eventually stopped, forming a huge heart. The staff on site called it a sign. A sign for what you may ask….”A sign to GET MARRIED!”. The evening, as the two walked hand in hand on the beach, they decided…What better place, than to get married then the white sandy beach of a Private Island they called home!
Since they were living in Vanuatu and their family was spread out all over the world, it became hard to plan the big wedding. This is where I came in! The couple had asked me to capture their special day so that they could share it with their loved ones overseas. The wedding was so beautiful and intimate. I truly saw the love these two had for each other. The earthquake sure knew how to send a message to the lovebirds!
Tatum and Brett, goodness, you guys. We had the best time together during your wedding session. You two are as beautiful on the outside as you are kind on the inside. I hope you loved seeing yourselves and your love through my lens as much as I loved photographing it!
